Unfortunately, dog training and behaviour management is still in a transitional phase. You'll find a variety of trainers who subscribe to both old and new concepts about dogs. We follow validated learning theories.
Our training methods
We teach you to use positive reinforcement with your dog or puppy – that way your puppy wants to learn and respond by earning rewards. You’ll be encouraged to use a clicker, which allows the dog to learn at a faster rate.
Dogs learn through operant and classical conditioning. After 100,000 years of domestication they are no longer wolves in dogs' clothing trying to dominate the human world!
We do not use physical punishment, noise aversion, rattle cans, Pet Corrector, leash corrections, choke chains, water sprays, the "Jingler", or other aversive methods – these frighten the dog or puppy, destroy the human/animal bond, and open the door for noise phobias, fear and anxiety problems later on - in a nutshell, they are cruel - genuine behaviour modification takes time.
